Reverie [3'00"]

$250.00

Reverie (L.86) is a piano piece in F major by Claude Debussy written in 1890, published in 1891, and first performed in 1899. Debussy's Reverie was one of his first solo piano works to make an impact. The gently repetitive theme that opens the work feels like a descent into a sleepy dream world (as the title suggests), and is more of a meditation and precursor to his later works that would explore a more harmonically adventurous texture and lush evocate soundscape. Nathan’s orchestration for Solo Clarinet, 2 Harps, Celesta, 2 Percussion, and Strings bring this delicate piano piece to a fittingly lush, picturesque, and simmering life.
