‘Sleepers Wake’ or ‘Sleepers Awake,’ (including many more variations on this name) comes from J.S. Bach’s classic cantata, BWV 140. It is a church cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach, written in 1599, and regarded as one of his most mature, inspired, and popular sacred cantatas.
